Talk Is Cheap: Safety Matters – Mold at the Hilliard Post Office

NBC4i.com: Postal workers’ union raises concerns over suspected mold at Hilliard office

We reached out to NBC4i, and they have covered the story at the link above, for which we cannot thank them enough. Please check out their story and share it. Continue reading below for our context.

APWU Local 232 has been fighting to get the ongoing issue of mold resolved at the Hilliard, Ohio Post Office. Unfortunately, all we have seemingly received from the Postal Service is “talk” with little to no action since August 2025 – nearly an entire year! And as National APWU President Jonathan Smith’s campaign says, “Talk is Cheap: Safety Matters.”

This risk of mold exposure includes members of our bargaining unit, but also customers and the public as well. Up until now, we have had almost a year of “talk,” which has proven itself “cheap.” Safety does matter, and we must have action now. We hope this will be the impetus for change regarding safety that we need, both in Hilliard and in the Central Ohio area.
